We want your experience to be unique, so all our designs are created exclusively for cocodot. Our service is meant to help you save money on printing, design, and postage ... not to mention the time you’ll save on creating invitations and managing guest correspondence.

What is the best way to reach customer service?

Email support@cocodot.com or click on the HELP button on the left side of any cocodot page to reach customer support. You can also call 888-9-COCODOT Monday through Friday 9am—6pm PST.

What is the best way to make suggestions for the site?

We are constantly trying to improve the cocodot experience. We invite you to share your feedback.

Who created cocodot?

cocodot was founded by three women with distinguished backgrounds in the arts. They created cocodot because the sophisticated invitation-and-greeting website they wanted did not exist.

Amy Neunsinger’s photographs have helped define imagery for some of America’s most influential style-based brands, including Martha Stewart Living, InStyle, W, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Target.

Laura Shanahan was formerly the creative director for Bobbi Brown Cosmetics. She has designed for brands including Ralph Lauren, Clinique, Shabby Chic, and Shu Uemura.

Lisa Thompson is a former model who has worked with photographers Arthur Elgort and Steven Meisel, and was featured in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and campaigns for Giorgio Armani. After stints as a prop stylist and art gallery curator, she took up photography, and has contributed to Gourmet and Real Simple.

Getting Started: Create and Celebrate

How do I create a card or invitation to send online only?

To get started, SELECT a design, and then choose to send either as an online card or invitation. After you complete each step, click on NEXT to progress to the next page. When you check out, click on SEND EMAILS to send your card or invitation online only.

What if I want to create my online card now and send it later?

You can schedule delayed sending in your Card Details, or your Event Details, page. When you click on SCHEDULE DELAYED SENDING, you will be able to select the date and time to send your card or invitation.

Can I edit the existing text on a design template?

It is not possible to change the text on a card or invitation on which the text is part of the design. On cards offering customizable text, you can replace the sample copy. All of our templates are available as blanks, so you can completely personalize your design to suit your message. If you cannot locate the blank version of a template, email us.

Am I limited to the fonts displayed in the Card Creator?

The fonts displayed in the Card Creator console are the only fonts available for designs created on the site. However, if you wish to design something offsite and then upload it, there is no limit to the fonts that can be used. To upload your own design, select the UPLOAD YOUR PHOTO category, and then click on FULL 7x5 BLANK.

Why am I seeing an error message saying that my text is outside the text box when it is not?

The “Your text extends beyond…” error message is meant to ensure that your entire message will be visible to your card recipient. The error message should disappear when you increase the size of the text box. To expand your text box, click once inside the box and then drag any of the side or corner arrows outward.

Can I customize the color scheme of an existing template?

Designs created for cocodot are exclusive to the site, and the color schemes cannot be altered. Our designers create new content daily. We welcome your suggestions regarding new designs and color schemes.

Is there a way to adjust the existing colors in the Card Creator palette?

cocodot will soon add a color wheel to give users more color flexibility. Until then, the shades in the color palette are the only options.

My cocodot: Personalizing Your Experience

What is my Account Dashboard?

When you register for a cocodot account, an Account Dashboard is created for you. Your Account Dashboard is the window to your personalized cocodot experience and offers many helpful tools. Primarily, your Account Dashboard stores all of your sent/previously designed cards, address book contacts, profile details, and account information. Through your Account Dashboard portal, you can edit your designs and details; send messages to your guests; track your cards and invitations; add or remove recipients; and more.

How do I track my cards and invitations?

Your Account Dashboard stores your cocodot address book as well as all your sent and previously designed cards, profile details, and account information. You can track your sent cards and invitations using the Manage Recipients/RSVPs tool. To track a specific card, go to your Dashboard, click on the card or invitation, and then click on MANAGE RECIPIENTS (for cards) or MANAGE RSVPs (for invitations), which will appear in the drop-down box above your opened card.

How do I upload a profile picture?

To add or update a profile photo, click on ACCOUNT DASHBOARD at the top right corner of any cocodot page, and then click on USER PROFILE. Click on the UPLOAD PROFILE PHOTO link at the right of the photo space. You will be prompted to choose a photo from your computer’s directory, and then you will have the option to crop it.

How do I change the email address connected to my cocodot account?

In the Account Dashboard, click on USER PROFILE, and then CHANGE (to the right of your current email address). Once you have entered your new email address, click on UPDATE PROFILE at the bottom right corner of the page.

Is it possible for me to upload profile pictures for my guests?

Not yet. Your guests have the opportunity to upload a photo of themselves when they RSVP or make a comment. To protect users, we ask that guests register before adding a profile photo to a card or event landing page. We wouldn’t want any unauthorized or unflattering photos to end up on your card or event pages!

How do I use cocodot with Facebook?

To attach your Facebook account to your cocodot account, click on ACCOUNT DASHBOARD at the top right corner of any cocodot page. Click on USER PROFILE and then “Link a Facebook account.” Enter your Facebook log-in information. You can link or unlink any Facebook account through the link on your User Profile page. This is a particularly handy tool for events with multiple hosts.

How do I cancel an event once the online invitations have been emailed?

To cancel an event, go to your Account Dashboard (at the top right corner of any cocodot page), and click on the arrow to the right of your invitation. Select CANCEL, and then click on YES, CANCEL EVENT. The next screen will offer the option of sending a note to your guests about the cancellation. If you would like to enter a message, type it into the box, then click on SEND MESSAGE. If you do not wish to send a message, click on NO MESSAGE.

How can I send a message to my guests once my invitations have been emailed?

The best way to send a follow-up message to your guests is to click on SEND A MESSAGE TO GUESTS in the drop-down menu above your open invitation. To access this button, go to your Account Dashboard (at the top right corner of any cocodot page), and click on your invitation. Click on SEND A MESSAGE TO GUESTS and enter your message. Once you have completed your message, you will be asked whether you would like to send an update email to your guests. You can choose to send the message (1) to all your guests; (2) only to those who have responded “yes” or “maybe”; or (3) to those who have not responded at all.

What time do scheduled resends and reminders go out?

Scheduled resends and reminders go out at 9am local time (i.e., in the time zone of the event) on the scheduled date.

What is a Public URL (customized link), and what are the benefits of creating one?

A customized link or Public URL is a unique link for your card or event that anyone can access. This is a useful tool for events with more than one host, or for when you want guests to share the link with others. Anyone who clicks on the link can RSVP and add themselves to the guest list. The URL can be forwarded via email, as well as copied-and-pasted and shared on social media sites including Twitter and Facebook. (You can share via Facebook even without a Public URL by posting to a Facebook Wall or inbox.)

How do I make my card or invitation private?

cocodot invitation management pages can be customized to keep comments, guest list and RSVPs private. To make your card private (and disable the comments feature) select HIDE RECIPIENT COMMENTS in your Card Details page (which follows the Design stage). To hide all comments and RSVPs select GUESTS CANNOT SEE > RSVPS, COMMENTS & GUEST LIST.

How do I add music to a card or invitation?

To add a song or other recorded track to your card, click on the musical-note icon at the top of the Card Creator in the Design page. Audio files must be in MP3 format. If you would like to add a track from your iTunes library and it is not in MP3 format, adjust the settings as follows:

  1. Go to iTunes Preferences > General > Import Settings > Change “Import Using” to “MP3.”
  2. Select “Create an MP3 version” in the iTunes “Advanced” tab.

Some purchased songs are encoded with a protected AAC format that prevents them from being converted. In such cases, you can burn the song to a CD and then copy it back to iTunes as an MP3.

How do I add a voice recording?

To add a voice recording to your card, click on the musical-note icon at the top of the Card Creator in the Design page. Click on RECORD VOICE, which will appear below the musical-note icon, and then click on RECORD VOICE in the Recording Tools drop-down menu. You will be asked to ALLOW cocodot to access your camera and microphone. Once you allow access, click on the REC button to begin recording your voice. To play back your voice recording, click on PLAY. You can re-record as often as you wish. To remove your recording, return to your Design page and click on REMOVE RECORDING, located below the Recording Tools drop-down menu.

How do I personalize an existing card or invitation to send to multiple recipients?

To send the same card to multiple recipients with different personalized messages, you must first duplicate your card. Please note that any changes you make to an existing card instead of to a duplicate card will be applied to the original, so your original version will be lost. You can duplicate the card in your Account Dashboard. The Create Duplicate feature copies every aspect of your invitation's design and details section. Follow the steps below to duplicate your design.

  1. Log into cocodot.
  2. Click on ACCOUNT DASHBOARD > MY CARDS & INVITATIONS.
  3. Click on the blue arrow to the top right of your design.
  4. Click on CREATE DUPLICATE.
  5. Personalize your message or edit the invitation. Keep clicking on NEXT through the Design page and the Details page.
  6. Add your RECIPIENTS and click on NEXT.
