Why We Love Co Co. Sala
The amount of chocolate consumed in the cocodot office is what you might call "a lot." So much so that it's become something of a competition to see who can find the best confections out there. This year's winner is Washington, D.C. chocolatier Co Co. Sala, which offers some of the most interesting and exotic ingredients we've seen yet. Staff favorites include the goji berry and Himalayan rock salt "aphrosi-bark," Perrier-Jouer-infused cork-shaped chocolates, and chocolate-covered bacon strips. These sweets are now number one on our gift lists for birthdays, Valentine's Day, and every day.

The Story
When longtime D.C. residents Nisha Sidhu and Bharet Malhotra opened chocolate lounge Co Co. Sala in 2008, they knew the city would fall for a new coffee-cum-cocoa-cum-cocktail concept. It wasn’t
long until a boutique addition provided unconventional, housemade, melt-in-your-mouth treats like
Earl Grey-flavored truffles, mojito-flavored truffles, and hot cocoa pops, adored by "grown-up" chocolate fans.
